My work was inspired by the creation of an illegal dumpsite.

The wind spread the trash all around the nearby fields and the dumpsite grew unstoppably, devouring the surrounding nature.

Fruit trees and green meadows became victims to this dumpsite, which was raging like a ‘hala’.

The ‘hala’ is а figure from the Bulgarian mythology.

Its image is connected to a strong wind and destructive natural elements.

It’s described as a black cloud with multiple heads, wings and tails.

It wreaks havoc, it consumes and spews.

It’s believed that the ‘hala’ can swallow the sun and the moon, that it steals the fertility and destroys the harvest.
